America’s Cheapest Grocery Store Looking to Expand Even More in Connecticut
There are two things that make me happy here. One, the word "cheap" and "Connecticut" are sitting in the same sentence and two, business want to continue expanding in the state.
I've been writing so often about businesses closing that I get so happy when I'm able to write about businesses opening or planning to open. I know it's not the easiest time for businesses, but I love when they are successful and want to continue expanding.
A little while back, I wrote about the cheapest grocery store in the country having 32 Connecticut locations. That grocery store is Aldi. We have locations scattered around the state and it looks like more may be coming. We have quite a few options in the (extended) greater Danbury area alone with Waterbury, New Milford, Danbury, Monroe, etc. There are a good amount of options if you need to take a trip over.
According to the Connecticut Scoop, Aldi was looking to expand to Stratford in the Stratford Square shopping center located at 411 Barnum Ave. It looks like that location was approved, and now they're looking to propose a new location in East Windsor. The East Windsor location would be at 151 Prospect Hill Road in the undeveloped land between Comfort Inn and RTNC Auto Wash.
Honestly, I'll take it. Groceries are so expensive right now that I'll take any kind of discount I can get. While Aldi can't be your one-stop-shop to groceries, it can absolutely lower your grocery bill every week. I hope it gets approved and we can add even more business to Connecticut.
