MSN recently put out an article called “The Income You Need to Live Comfortably in All 50 States,” and yeah, curiosity got the best of me. I had to see what the number looked like for Connecticut.

Spoiler: it’s kind of terrifying.

But before we get into that, let’s talk about what “comfortable” even means. Because let’s be real—your version of comfort might look totally different from mine. For this study, MSN pulled data from SmartAsset and based their numbers on the 50/30/20 budget rule. That breaks down like this: 50% of your income goes to necessities like housing, food, and utilities. Then 30% is for fun stuff, and 20% is supposed to go toward savings or investments.

So that’s the version of "comfort" we’re working with here. Honestly, I feel like we’re already learning something, so shoutout to this article for being bitchin in that way.

Anyway, once all the numbers were crunched, Connecticut landed as the 11th most expensive state in the country. According to the study, you’d need to make $100,381 a year to live comfortably here.

That’s hilarious to me for so many reasons, I think the number is too low and too high. Too low because I see people who make that on the struggle bus. Too high because, why should people have to meet that number to be comfortable?

Let's put it this way, living in Connecticut is mostly about doing things to stay living in Connecticut. Damn, that should be on a t-shirt.

What about our friends and neighbors over in New York? According to the same study, they need even more to live comfortably. The magic number for them is $111,738 a year, which makes New York the 4th most expensive state in the country.

These are 19 of Connecticut's Wanted Fugitives according to BailCo Bail Bonds, who state the following on their website:

"The persons listed on this page are currently wanted by BailCo Bail Bonds Manchester LLC and the State of Connecticut for failing to appear at a scheduled court date.
