
Danbury San Gennaro Festival 2025: What You Need to Know for This Year’s Celebration
The Danbury Feast of San Gennaro is one of my favorite events. Every year, I look forward to the feast, not only for the incredible food, music, and performances but because it’s a chance to socialize with the entire Greater-Danbury area over five days.
Whenever there is San Gennaro news to share, I'm pumped to get it out and we have some.
Here is what you can expect at this amazing, free experience.
Who:
Grand Marshal: The 2025 Danbury Feast of San Gennaro will be led by Antonia “Tonina” Chieffalo, a beloved local figure and proud member of the Italian-American community. Tonina has dedicated over 60 years to the Amerigo Vespucci Lodge, serving in leadership roles like Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.
I-95: As always, I-95 will be broadcasting live. You can come by the booth and see us say ridiculous things in person.
What:
- Danbury Feast of San Gennaro is a five-day festival celebrating Italian culture, community, and heritage. The event is free to attend and features:
- A mass at St. Peter’s Church, a blessing of the San Gennaro statue, and a procession down Main Street to Ives Street.
- Live music and entertainment from a variety of bands and Italian performers, including The Zoo, Beyond Purple, the AC/DC tribute band Back in Black, and Not Sorry.
- Daytime performances by Italian artists such as Vito Lombardo, Vittorio di Carlo, and Biagio.
- The return of popular food vendors, including Nicky Zooks Fresh Mozzarella, Dolce, and Stanziato’s Pizza, along with signature dishes like sausage & peppers.
- 80’s-themed laser light shows, special Metallica and Pink Floyd tributes, and a fireworks display at night.
When:
Dates: August 20-24, 2025
The festival kicks off on Wednesday, August 20th at 4:00 PM, with a mass at St. Peter’s Church, a blessing of the San Gennaro statue, and a procession through Danbury.
Where:
The San Gennaro Festival will take place at 1 Ives Street, Danbury, CT. This prime location offers a central space for all festival activities, making it easy for everyone in the greater Danbury area to attend and participate.
