You're standing outside your vehicle in the middle of the road screaming at a complete stranger and you stop and wonder how you got here. Road rage is a real problem in America but it's worse in some places than it is in others.

A new report from Forbes looked at the States with the Most Confrontational Drivers for 2024 and here is what they found.

Top 10 States:

1. California

2. Missouri

3. Utah

4. Oklahoma

5. Colorado

6. Mississippi

7. Indiana

8. Virginia

9. New York

10. Maryland

What about the Nutmeg State? We landed at #15 on the list of the nation's most confrontational drivers list.

Other Study Takeaways:

  • In the past 12 months, 41% of drivers witnessed an act of road rage, 32% experienced road rage from another driver and 22% felt road rage themselves.
  • Drivers reported experiencing road rage most frequently on freeways or highways (36%).
  • According to the drivers we surveyed, truck drivers are most frequently seen exhibiting road rage (33%).

How did Forbes come to these determinations? They compared all 50 states on 9 key metrics that include things like percentage of drivers that have reported another driver that has forced their car off the road, percentage of drivers that say they've experienced road rage and percentage of drivers that have had someone honk at them.

This is all well and good but I don't care what Forbes has to say, I want to know what you think. We live here right on the New York/Connecticut border so we would know best who has more road rage.

P.S. I like to think I'm a pretty clever dude but all of that goes out the window when I'm in a loud confrontation with someone. My vocabulary becomes severly limited to swear words and threats that make little to no sense. I think if I could step outside of my body and watch myself argue it would be hilarious to watch.
