On July 17th, WTNH-TV reported that a green iguana named Oogie-Boogie had busted out of its cage four months ago from a home in Middletown and was seen casing the area around the Town Place Apartments, according to a post from Middletown Animal Control.

Named after Santa's ruthless antagonist in "A Nightmare Before Christmas," Oogie's owner, Jessica, told Hearst Connecticut Media, "I never met an animal more determined to be in harm's way than this dude." She went on to say that Oogie has always had a bad disposition.

After Oogie escaped, Middletown Animal Control passed along sighting reports to the iguana's owner. The lizard had been spotted climbing trees and snooping around Middletown apartment buildings.

Oogie was spotted wandering around someone's fenced-in yard, searching for juicy leaves, weeds, flowers, and fruits. The iguana was dropped off at a neighbor's home, who was familiar with reptiles. When Oogie's owner, Jessica Safford, picked up her iguana, she told ctinsider.com that the individual "seemed happy to see him go."
