As we all know, in a perfect world, Thanksgiving is when families come together to give thanks for all of life's blessings as they feast on turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc. Check this out: According to the Calorie Control Council, a typical Thanksgiving feast contains between 3,000 and 4,500 calories!

According to the Food and Drug Administration, there are six ingredients that are widely used in preparation of the Thanksgiving meal that are being recalled and if included, could have you running to the closest bathroom. According to FDA data, there were 1,908 product recalls of "food and/or cosmetics" in 2024. Here's the rundown.

** Organic Whole and Baby CarrotsGrimmway Farms has issued a recall of select organic whole carrots and organic baby carrots that should no longer be in grocery stores but may be in consumers' refrigerators or freezers. ** Cinnamon Powder—According to Forbes.com, the Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall for cinnamon powder made by the IHA Beverage company over concerns about elevated lead levels. This recall continues a problem that saw a dozen other brands recalled earlier this year and more than 50 kids sickened in 2023 by contaminated cinnamon applesauce pouches.

** Onion Soup Mix - This product is made by the Glister Mary Lee Company and is sold by ShopRite grocery stores under the Bowl & Basket brand in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, and Maryland. According to the recall, "consumers should return the product to the store for a full refund or discard it," and "no illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this coating mix."
