Mystic Restaurant Sits on List of Best Restaurants in America

I've been talking a lot about our food scene lately. I feel like Connecticut in general is pretty underrated when it comes to our food scene. Of course we get national attention from Pepe's, Sally's, and the New Haven area, but we have so much beyond that.

I absolutely love when businesses branch out and open locations here as their first in New England. That means they understand our food landscape as well and want to see what Connecticut can bring. People always talk about the best restaurants around the state and while not everyone may have the same answer, we do have some pretty great places.

Love Food came out with a list of the Best Restaurants in America and Connecticut's wasn't one that you see on every list. Connecticut's feature happened to be The Shipwright's Daughter in Mystic. It is located at 20 E Main Street in Mystic. A quick google search showed how loved this restaurant is. People talk about how great the service, food and all around experience is.

They have menus that range from breakfast to brunch to dinner and they have a variety of things for just about everyone. You can see them here. Love Food had this to say about The Shipwright's Daughter:

One of 2024’s best restaurants in America according to The New York Times, The Shipwright’s Daughter is a seafood restaurant with sustainability at its heart. Self-described as ‘tide to table,’ the restaurant works with local growers, fishermen, and farms to create a menu of fresh, locally sourced food. Fishy favorites served up in the inviting contemporary dining room (created by a James Beard Award–winning chef, no less) include plump seared scallops, squid ink rigatoni, and smoked clam dip.

Honestly, I've never been before. It looks like I'm going to have to take a trip to Mystic to experience this restaurant for myself. Anytime a restaurant gets any sort of attention like this, it makes me absolutely want to try it.
